The U.S. Mission in Manila is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of Antenna Equipment Technician (Antenna Equipment Mechanic Foreman) in the U.S. Agency for Global Media located in Barangay Tinang, Concepcion, Tarlac.

Duties:

Incumbent is responsible for the repair, maintenance and modification of high-power medium wave, shortwave, very high frequency, ultra-high frequency, television receive-only and satellite antenna systems of the Philippines Transmitting Station. He is also responsible for the monitoring of the Antenna Rigging and Maintenance Contract.

Operates man lift and boom truck assigned to the Rigging Section. Supervises and inspects work of antenna technician and contract riggers engaged in repair of antenna systems.

Requirements:

EDUCATION: Completion of secondary school is required and/or completion of vocational training from an accredited institute with concentration in antenna system, signal testing, or cable installation is required.

EXPERIENCE: Two years as a full-time antenna equipment technician or as a rigger is required.

LANGUAGE: Good Working Knowledge (Speaking/Reading/Writing) in English and Tagalog language is required. This may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Must have excellent knowledge of climbing and rigging technique and related practices. Must be proficient in use of crane, special rigging tools, hoist, capstan, splice, drill presses, lathe and milling machines. Able to operate boom truck, boom lift genie/aerial man lift and other heavy equipment. Shall have had a driver’s license for a minimum of five years. Job holder must have a valid and current driver’s license for the class of vehicle(s) they are assigned or authorized to drive. This may be tested.
