JCA through the years
JUBILEE CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (JCA) exists today because a handful of men and women worked into reality the God-given vision of a quality school that teaches English, Filipino, and Chinese subjects in a Christian context. Since its founding, JCA has prepared its students for excellence in the different areas of our society to influence them for the Great Commission.
1967
The Christian Gospel Truth Foundation, Inc. (CGTFI), a non-stock, non-profit corporation, established Jubilee Christian Elementary School (JCES) in Matienza, San Miguel, Manila.
For the first ten years, Mr. Jesus S. F. Gonzaga served as Principal and Mr. Alejandro G. Beltran, Sr. was the Chairman of the Academy Board of Trustees.
1968
The Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MECS) granted full recognition to the JCES Kindergarten Department.
1969
JCES graduated its first batch of Elementary students.
1973
The Department of Education, Culture and Sports granted government recognition for a complete six-year elementary course.
1977
For the next two years, JCA continued to grow under the supervision of Dr. Gerardo Veloso.
1979
Ms. Yap Siok Ho took over to continue the mission.
1980
JCES moved from a wooden building in Matienza to the concrete building in New Manila, Quezon City.
JCES received a special permit for the operation of the High School Department and was named Jubilee Christian High School (JCHS). Dr. Tan Chuy Lieng was then in charge.
1982
Mrs. Nenita Nessia directed operations in JCHS for two years.
1984
The year featured another golden moment as it produced its first batch of High School graduates. Mr. Alejandro G. Beltran, Sr. re-assumed the chairmanship of the Academy Board of Trustees from Mr. Nicasio G. Co, Sr.
1985
For the next 12 years, the School further developed under the leadership of Chairman / Executive Director Alejandro G. Beltran, Sr.
1986
MECS granted government recognition to JCHS for a complete general secondary course.
JCHS was renamed Jubilee Christian Academy (JCA). JCA reinforced its pursuit for academic excellence in the Christian context.
1995
A property fronting both E. Rodriguez Avenue and F. Manalo Street, Cubao, Quezon City was acquired to be used by Preschool Department
1997
Executive Directress, Dr. Sally L. Coyukiat, started work in sculpturing the JCA education into a nationally and internationally competitive Christian institution for the 21st century.
Mr. Nicasio G. Co, Sr. chaired the Academy Board of Trustees.
1998
The property on E. Rodriguez Avenue that is adjacent to the Preschool Department was purchased.
Mr. Chan Kok Bin was elected Chairman of the Academy Board of Trustees.
2001
Construction of the new building at E. Rodriguez started year-end of 2001. The Preschool Department moved in November 2002. On December 01, 2003, the High School Department followed. The Elementary Department stays on in D. Hemady.
2010
The property on 4th Street that is adjacent to the Elementary Department was purchased.
2013
JCA first opened its doors for a Formal Visit from the Philippine Accrediting Association of Schools, Colleges and Universities (PAASCU). The Junior High School Department was granted a three-year Level 1 Accreditation
2014
The property on F. Manalo Street that is adjacent to E. Rodriguez Campus was purchased.
2015
The School Year marked the first year of implementation of the K to 12 Program following the two years of bridging the old curriculum to the new one.
JCA began the use of iPad as a learning tool in the School’s blended e-learning program. The grades 4 and 7 students were the pioneers in the adoption of Teachnology to enhance learning in JCA.
2016
A partnership with De La Salle University’s Connect-Ed to strengthen the Senior High School began. Advance Placement (AP) courses in Calculus, Physics, Biology, Chemistry and English were offered to Senior High School student over three years.
The Singapore International Primary School Examination (iPSLE) was first used by the Elementary to benchmark Jubilee standards with Singapore, considered to be the best performing country in the basic education.
Junior High School Department was granted a five-year Level 2 Accreditation.
2017
JCA celebrated its 50th Foundation Anniversary by holding an evangelistic musical production entitled Once Upon A Parable to three thousand plus Community Care recipients and Jubilee students, parents and alumni. It raised funds to support the Community Care institutions serving the marginalized groups. It was truly a God-honoring experience.
The construction of Jubilee Center Building on 4th Street began.
2019
The Elementary Department was granted a three-year Level 1 Accreditation.
Due to covid – 19 pandemic, JCA transitioned to online learning for all its students.
2021
The baton of leadership was passed on from Mr. Chan Kok Bin and Mr. Patrocinio Bayot to Mrs. Marian Ang and Dr. Gentry Dee as Chair and Vice-Chair, respectively, of the Academy Board of Trustees. Dr. Sally L. Coyukiat turned over the leadership of the School to Dr. Paul P. Calamiong. Under the servant-leadership of Mr. Chan, Mr. Bayot and Dr. Coyukiat, God transformed JCA into a top feeder school to the top 4 Philippines universities with many organizational, student program and property developments.
To strengthen JCA for future growth, the Academic Unit was established, the Preschool and Elementary Departments were consolidated, and the Community Service created.
2022
Jubilee Center was completed. The students enjoy additional canteen, assembly and activity areas, auditorium, gallery and roof deck garden to enrich their learning experiences.
JCA celebrates its 55th Foundation Anniversary with the theme “Digitalization for the Great Commission”, asking God to enable the School to expand its territory as Jabez prayed in 1 Chronicles 4:10.
