Job Description

The Social Workers shall be responsible for the field implementation, including ensuring social preparation and other project activities are carried out in a timely and effective manner. Coordinates and strengthens partnership between the project stakeholders; works closely with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer (MSWDO) in the training, coaching and mentoring of Para-Social Workers, especially in the actual conduct of the case study and progress monitoring. Ensures proper case management and facilitates the strengthening of existing, or development of new, referral pathways. Contributes to enhanced social protection through proactive reporting of actual experiences, difficulties on the ground, identification of lessons learned, and formulation of recommendations. Three of the more highly qualified/experienced social workers will serve as Senior Social Workers, with their responsibilities including supervision of other social workers. Based in Cotabato City, Iligan City, or Zamboanga City, Social Workers report to Senior Social Workers responsible for operational leadership at each of the three project hubs. The Senior Social Workers report to the Project Coordinator.

Qualification:

Licensed Social Worker, ideally with a master’s degree in social work, and at least three (3) years of experience in child protection, case management, social work supervision, and/or community organizing in the conflictafflicted areas. Senior Social Workers will have more experience and, possibly, higher academic credentials. Strong analytical skills and relationship building skills. Proficiency in community-based, participative processes that promote peace and prevent harm is required. Very good verbal and written proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented with fluency in Maranao, Maguindanaon, Tausog, Yakan, Visayan and/or Cebuano dialects. Knowledgeable about Mindanao, the conflict-affected areas, and the socio/political dynamics. Proactive and rigorous approach to problem solving and professional responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team. Proficient with personal computers and appropriate software
