Social Work Training Officer

Job Description

The Social Work Training Officer facilitates the conduct of training needs assessments; analyzes and determines the training requirements; takes the lead in formulating the training design as well as developing the required training materials; and ensures the effective preparation of the training schedule, venue, logistics, participants and resource persons. S/he provides training, ensures the documentation and evaluation of trainings, and manages the compilation and archiving of training materials. Based in Cotabato City, the Training Officer reports to the Project Coordinator, with some travel in the conflict-affected area of Mindanao


Licensed Social Worker with a master’s degree in social work and significant teaching/training experience. Proficiency in the formulation and implementation of training designs as well as adult education is required. Excellent verbal and written proficiency in English is required, ideally complemented with fluency in Maranao, Maguindanaon, Tausog, Yakan, Visayan and/or Cebuano dialects. Knowledgeable about Mindanao, the conflict-affected areas, and the socio/political dynamics. Proactive and rigorous approach to problem solving and professional responsibilities. Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team. Proficient with personal computers and appropriate software.
